Jewelry Appraisals
If you have valuable jewelry to insure, most carriers require an appraisal document with a thorough description including photos and the current retail replacement value. If your appraisal becomes outdated, you risk not receiving present-day value should you need to make a claim.
Jewelry appraisals are best performed by a Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America. Our Graduate Gemologist has been authenticating and appraising fine jewelry and watches here in Central Florida for over 3 decades. She has the most up to date equipment and knowledge to give the most accurate jewelry appraisals possible.
A current retail replacement value appraisal from our GIA GRADUATE GEMOLOGIST will allow you to rest easy in the knowledge that should you sustain a loss or theft of your valuable jewelry, your insurance payout will represent the actual cost to replace your items in today’s market.
Did you know?
Many pieces of jewelry increase in value over time, some significantly. The costs of both materials and skilled labor required to manufacture jewelry have increased year over year for many decades. Additionally, since the mid 90s easing of trade restrictions, the US market has been flooded with inferior quality jewelry from countries with questionable manufacturing standards. Prior to this easing, most jewelry available here was made here in the USA or by a select group of countries able to meet the high standards for metal purity required by the Federal Trade Commission. As a result, older, higher quality jewelry pieces have become much rarer by comparison. Coupled with the increase in global population, this has led to increased demand for older, higher quality jewelry pieces which affects the value greatly.
